Info
On November 8, 2026, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan brings his voice to the Edmonton EXPO Centre for a night built around the qawwali tradition and its many offshoots. Raised in the Fateh Ali Khan lineage and shaped early on inside Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s orbit, he approaches Sufi devotional music with a Hindustani classical backbone: long melodic lines, nimble improvisation, and that tension-and-release that makes qawwali feel physical.
Over the years, his solo path has stretched from qawwali and ghazal to Sufi-inspired pop and film songs, with the same signature intensity whether he’s riding a slow, meditative phrase or pushing into brighter, more direct hooks. Expect a set that moves between spiritual repertoire and crowd-ready favorites, keeping the emphasis where it belongs: the voice, the poetry, and the way a refrain can turn into a shared chant.
