Info
Giles Corey is Dan Barrett’s folk-leaning solo outlet, a space where bare songwriting meets shadowy textures. On 7 February 2027 at Bush Hall in London, he brings this project back to the stage for rare dates and, for the first time, plays it entirely alone. The core is simple and direct: voice, acoustic instruments, and songs that sit with depression, death, history, and the paranormal without turning them into concepts or distance.
First released in 2011, the self-titled Giles Corey album started with an “acoustic only” rule that ends up sounding anything but small: guitar and piano, heavy organ swells, ghostly choirs, field recordings, and sudden walls of noise circling around intimate confession. Live, that tension is the point, moving from near-silence to real physical impact, with unstable electronics and arrangements that can crack open mid-song.
The set also includes brand new material, performed live for the first time, stretching the same haunted slowcore and dark folk language into something new.
