Info
On February 18, 2027, Herman van Veen will take the stage at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven with an evening that precisely matches his idiosyncratic approach to storytelling. Since the 1960s, he has moved effortlessly between song, cabaret, and musical theatre, in a style where language is as important as melody. Do not expect a tightly delineated concert, but a performance in which singing, acting, and music intertwine, and in which he shifts between intimate and lightly theatrical. Van Veen draws on a large repertoire that over the years has acquired different colours: from early songwriter songs to orchestrated pop and folk influences, always with that characteristic attention to rhythm and timing. His background as a violinist and singer comes through in the variety and the space he allows for nuance. This show in Eindhoven feels like a meeting with an artist who has guided his audience for decades into the same world, but each time from a new angle.
