Info
Groundation returns with A Tribute to Bob Marley, a live stage project born in the early 2000s and conceived as a living homage to the repertoire and message of the 'king of reggae', but also to the Wailers' collective playing. Formed in the late 1990s around Harrison Stafford, the California-based band has built its signature on a roots reggae infused with jazz: long crescendos, improvisations, brass in the foreground, more intimate breaths, and instrumental passages where keyboards, guitar and the rhythm section respond to one another. On May 19, 2027 at Cabaret Sauvage in Paris, Groundation revisits Marley’s classics as well as the deeper tracks without freezing them, weaving them with its own colors, between dub, rich harmonies and spiritual energy. A concert that speaks as much of memory as of the present, and that leaves room for risk, interpretation and groove, where the homage truly comes alive.
