Info
Dub Pistols land in Derby on November 14, 2026, bringing their London-bred mix of electronic pressure and street-level band energy to The Hairy Dog. Since forming in 1996 around frontman Barry Ashworth, the crew have made a habit of jumping the fences between dub weight, punk edge, ska and reggae swing, with breakbeats and hip-hop attitude holding it all together.
Expect a set built for movement: basslines that hit like a sound system, sharp rhythmic turns, and choruses that feel made to be shouted back. Their early run put them on the map with tracks like “There’s Gonna Be a Riot,” “Best Got Better,” and “Cyclone,” before albums such as Point Blank and Six Million Ways to Live pushed the formula into more vocal-led territory. Still active decades on, Dub Pistols keep that hybrid approach alive onstage, where the genre-mashing really makes sense.
