On March 2, 2027, Hudson Freeman brings his lo-fi folk songwriting to Whelan’s in Dublin, with a set built for close listening and quiet singalongs. Raised between the suburbs of Dallas and Eswatini in an evangelical missionary family, he started writing early to carve out some distance, and that tension still runs through his songs: belief and doubt, the need to belong, friendships that wobble, and the little anxieties that stack up.
His sound sits between intimate folk, hushed indie rock and raw home recordings, with that intentionally unpolished grain he calls “lofi folk”. From the DIY beginnings of his first EP A Man, One Day to the more expansive writing on I AM All the Ages I’ve Ever Been, Freeman has kept the focus on the voice and the words. More recently, is a folk artist (2025) pushes those themes into the digital age, and newer tracks like “if you know Me” show how he keeps stretching the same fragile thread without losing the warmth.
