On February 16, 2027, the Élysée Montmartre hosts a co-headlining bill that speaks to both black metal fans and aficionados of expansive progressive forms: Enslaved and Sólstafir, with Gaahls Wyrd opening.
Enslaved arrives with Mið, the new chapter of a band that has never ceased to push the boundaries between Nordic brutality, ancient mythologies and more adventurous constructions. Expect a set that plays on contrasts: sharp riffs, airier passages, raspy vocals and clear melodies, all carried by their distinctive way of telling rites of passage through music.
Facing them, Sólstafir come to defend Hin helga kvöl, somewhere between post-metal, atmospheric rock and darker impulses inherited from their beginnings. On stage, their songs take time to settle in, alternating slow-building tension, misty breaths and crescendos.
To kick off the evening, Gaahls Wyrd opens with its introspective and ritual black metal, crafted to establish a dense atmosphere before the back-to-back headliners.
