For this journey, the destination is Brazil with DJ RAY, an Afro-diasporic DJ and curator originally from Campinas, in the state of São Paulo.
Daughter of a b-boy and DJ and of a samba dancer, DJ RAY grew up at the heart of movement, sound, and street cultures. A story that today is reflected in her energetic sets, where funk, rap, Brazilian funk, and other sounds drawn from her musical universe meet to make the dancefloor vibrate.
After touring Brazilian scenes, DJ RAY quickly crossed borders. Since her first European tour in 2024, she has performed in Paris, London, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Marseille, as well as at several festivals in Brazil such as The Town, Tusca, Bienal, and Virada Cultural.
Also on the airwaves of Rinse, Foundation FM, Veneno, and Half Moon, and the official DJ of Brazilian artist Ajuliacosta, DJ RAY also develops Ray Convida, a project dedicated to peripheral cultures, Black women, and LGBTQIAPN+ communities.
An engaged, transnational artist connected to dancefloor culture, who will bring her Brazilian and Afro-diasporic influences to Marseille.
