On September 24, 2027, Agnes Obel takes the stage at L’Olympia for a concert that promises to focus on the essentials: a voice held close to the microphone, a piano at center stage, and string arrangements that color the space without filling it. The Danish composer, who has moved from Copenhagen to Berlin, has built a universe at the crossroads of chamber pop, intimate folk, and a writing that flirts with the classical.
On stage, her pieces take on an almost cinematic dimension: slow melodies, layered vocal harmonies, circular piano motifs, and that way of letting silence become part of the piece. From Philharmonics to Myopia, she has refined a minimalist music, with touches of repetition, always in tension between sweetness and unease. In Paris, it will be an opportunity to revisit these compositions in a sober arrangement, conceived as a small chamber music ensemble.
