Info
On April 28, 2027, Richard Thompson brings his “Hippies, Thugs and Heroes - Band Tour 2027” to the O2 Guildhall in Southampton. A key figure of British folk-rock since the late 60s, he’s never stayed in one lane: sharp songwriting, stories that lean into the darker corners without losing a dry sense of humour, and a guitar style that can turn from intimate acoustic lines to full-on electric bite in a second.
This band show is the perfect setup for the wide sweep of his catalogue, from the early solo years after Fairport Convention to the era-defining records he made with Linda Thompson, and on through later chapters like Rumor and Sigh, Mock Tudor, Electric, and 13 Rivers. Expect a set built on narrative songs and melodies that stick, carried by that unmistakable playing where folk phrasing, rock energy, and a hint of country all meet onstage.
