Info
Fatoumata Diawara arrives on December 2, 2026 at Espace René-Cassin - La Gare, in Fontenay-le-Comte, for a live performance in which her Afro-fusion takes on its full dimension. Born in Ivory Coast to Malian parents, she weaves music that flows effortlessly between the Wassoulou traditions, Manding blues, soul, touches of jazz and today’s pop, with occasional electronic hues. On stage, her voice, at once clear and richly expressive, carries direct songs, often socially engaged, that speak of identity, exile, the condition of women and hope, without detours or grand rhetoric.
Also known for collaborations with Oumou Sangaré, Damon Albarn, Disclosure, Gorillaz and Matthieu Chedid, she retains a distinctive signature: grooves that grab you, generous melodies and a way of making heritage and modernity dialogue, song after song, up close to the audience.
