Info
Tank and The Bangas bring their New Orleans-bred mix of funk, soul, hip-hop, rock and spoken word to Blue Note London on November 29, 2026. Built around the voice and writing of poet-singer Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the collective moves like a live conversation: tight grooves, harmonies, rap-inflected flows, then sudden spaces where words take the lead and the band reshapes the pulse in real time.
Since forming in 2011 through local open-mic culture, they’ve kept that anything-can-happen energy while sharpening their sound across records like Green Balloon and Red Balloon, where alternative soul meets poetry and R&B. More recently, The Heart, The Mind, The Soul put Tank’s spoken-word side front and center, extending the band’s palette without losing the warmth of ensemble playing. Expect a set that treats rhythm and text as equals, switching moods fast but always landing on the groove.
