Info
The Mountain Goats return to London for Night 2 on 22 October 2026 at Hackney Church, with John Darnielle at the center of the storm: sharp storytelling, restless melodies, and that distinctive, lived-in voice that can flip from deadpan to devastating in a line. Born out of the early 90s DIY circuit, the project grew from lo-fi cassette releases into a full-band indie folk-rock institution without losing its obsession for characters, scenes, and emotional left turns.
Expect a set that moves fast between intimate confession and cathartic singalongs, with songs that feel like short stories you can shout back. Whether you came up on the early recordings or found them later through their 4AD era, this second night is another chance to catch Darnielle’s songwriting up close, where every chorus hits like a diary entry read out loud.
