Info
The Mountain Goats bring their Night 1 show to Hackney Church in London on October 21, 2026, with John Darnielle at the center: songwriter, storyteller, and restless engine of the band since 1991. Expect a set that moves fast between wiry folk-rock and sharper indie edges, carried by lyrics that land like short stories and choruses built for a room full of voices. From the early, lo-fi years traded through the underground on tapes and vinyl to the later records that pushed the band into a wider spotlight, The Mountain Goats have kept the same core appeal: songs that feel intimate but hit hard, funny one minute and bleak the next. Night 1 is a chance to catch that tension live, up close, in a space that suits the band’s raw intensity and crowd-level singalongs.
