On 19 November 2026, Albert Hall in Manchester hosts For Vini: The Music / The Durutti Column, a night built around the singular language Vini Reilly shaped with The Durutti Column. Since the late 70s, that sound has lived in the space between post-punk restraint and ambient drift: clean, airy guitar lines, pauses that say as much as notes, and melodies that feel half-whispered.
With Reilly’s music at the centre, producer Keir Stewart and drummer Bruce Mitchell bring together a special ensemble to revisit key pieces from across The Durutti Column’s long arc, from the early, chamber-like instrumentals to later, more synth-leaning shapes. The set also connects to the band’s recent chapter, with material linked to their return on Renascent.
Joining them, Manchester singer-songwriter Caoilfhionn Rose adds her own touch, moving between folk-rooted songwriting and hazy, jazz-tinged atmospheres that naturally echo the Durutti world. It’s a focused tribute, less about nostalgia and more about hearing how these compositions still breathe when played live, right where they started.
