Westside Cowboy land in Glasgow on March 23, 2027, at the Barrowland Ballroom with their quartet chemistry front and center: Reuben Haycocks, James Bradbury, Aoife Anson O’Connell and Paddy Murphy sharing the writing and pushing the songs as a collective. Their thing sits in that slipstream between country, indie rock and art rock, with wide-open melodies, tight guitar lines and a deliberately rough edge they call “Britainicana”: not cosplay Americana, more like a UK take on folk-country inflections colliding with nervous rock tension.
After early tracks put them on the UK independent radar, the EP So Much Country ’Till We Get There (Adventure Recordings, affiliated with Island Records) sharpened the formula. Recorded in New York with producer Loren Humphrey, it leans into choruses that stick without sanding down the grit. On stage, that balance turns physical: songs stretch, bite, and hit harder, the abrasive side coming through the way it does on festival sets and fast-rising tours.
