On April 13, 2027, Simple Minds will land at Zénith Nantes Métropole in Saint-Herblain with what has defined them since the Glasgow post-punk era: a new wave that quickly opened up to synthetic textures, repetitive rhythms, and atmospheric guitars, eventually taking on a broader, more rock- and melodic-oriented sound. Led by the duo Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, still at the heart of the group, the concert promises a true journey through several eras: the tense and experimental beginnings of the late 1970s and early 1980s, to the albums that established this broader and more direct sound over the course of New Gold Dream, Sparkle in the Rain, and Street Fighting Years. Expect also some tracks that have become staples, including Don't You (Forget About Me), and newer pieces from the band's resurgence in the 2010s–2020s, up to Direction of the Heart. An evening crafted to recapture, live, Simple Minds' balance between elegant synth-pop and rock energy.
