Sofia Karlsson - En Sång Till Selma
- Søndag, november 1
- 19.00-22.00
- Scalateatern Västra Torggatan 1, 652 25 Karlstad, Sverige
Info
The concert is part of Karlstad Live Music Week. I have dedicated my entire life to performing live music as a fiddler, choir conductor, and producer. For twenty years, in Queen tributes, it has been important to emphasize that everything you hear is live. After reports of AI's intrusion into the music world, I want to highlight the value of experiencing live music, which led to Karlstad Live Music Week at Scalateatern during the autumn break, All Saints' Day. You will have the chance to experience five concert evenings with singers and musicians who are live on stage.
Erik Rynefors, producer and arranger.
Sofia Karlsson
This evening at Scalateatern in Karlstad on 1 November 2026 is a tribute to Selma Lagerlöf's work and deeds, in the spirit of literature and music. Sofia Karlsson is one of Sweden's most acclaimed live artists, singers and instrumentalists, known for her interpretations of, among others, Dan Andersson and most recently Selma Lagerlöf. She has been awarded four Grammys in Sweden and two in Denmark, as well as several other honors, and in 2025 the project A Song for Selma received the Selma Lagerlöf Society's scholarship.
The music in the production is loosely based on Selma Lagerlöf's stories, speeches, poems and letters. Together with lyricist Johan Salberg, Sofia Karlsson has allowed themes from Selma's world, always relevant to humankind then as now, to take shape in new songs.
