The Funk Hunters bring their “Funk The Halls” show to Vancouver on December 19, 2026 at the Commodore Ballroom, with the kind of set that treats the DJ booth like a live instrument. Since forming in 2009, Nick Middleton and Duncan Smith have built a hybrid sound that moves between electro and future funk, glitch hop, soul, disco and hip-hop, always driven by warm basslines, chopped funk textures and big, sung hooks that hit right in the middle of the dancefloor.
Expect breakbeats and grooves that nod to African-American music traditions while staying firmly in the now, with modern electronic punch and quick shifts in tempo and vibe. Their tracks and edits have long been made for clubs and festivals, and that hands-on energy is what defines them onstage: tight transitions, playful sampling, and a flow that can swing from smooth and melodic to straight-up party pressure without losing the thread.
