If you’re into Punjabi pop meeting hip-hop and trap, Karan Aujla is one of the artists pushing that sound forward, moving easily between rap verses and big melodic hooks. Born in 1997 in Ghurala, Punjab, and shaped by a life between India and Canada, he first made his name writing lyrics for established Punjabi singers before stepping into the spotlight himself. Since the late 2010s, a run of widely shared singles helped define his style: everyday stories, diaspora themes, and the sharp imagery of contemporary Punjabi music, carried by modern production.
On record, he’s kept evolving without losing the core. B.T.F.U. (BacThaFu*Up) in 2021, made with Tru Skool, leans into classic bhangra-inspired arrangements, while later releases like Way Ahead (2022) and Four You (2023) move toward sleeker, more hybrid textures. With Making Memories, crafted closely with producer Ikky, he doubles down on a more melodic direction where Punjabi rap, sung choruses and R&B touches sit naturally together.
