Romare and Wayne Snow share the stage at Gretchen in Berlin on October 3, 2026 for an evening that brings groove and curiosity together. Two artists, two signatures – connected by the desire to open up sound worlds and to feed the dance floor as well as the mind.
Under the pseudonym Romare, the Brit Archie Fairhurst builds his tracks like collages: blues, gospel, jazz, soul, hip-hop, house, disco and bass music appear as fragments, are sampled, played, and reassembled. This is more than a mere sample workout – it’s about surprising transitions, about rhythm as a storytelling form. Following the globally colored early releases and the cinematic textures of "Fantasy," he looks to the present with the announced album "Oblivion": downtempo, broken beat and vibrant grooves meet questions of technology, ecology, power and social justice.
Wayne Snow, born in Nigeria and at home in Berlin, draws lines between Neo-Soul, Afrobeat, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Electronica, carried by his falsetto and a clear sense of melody. From "Freedom TV" through "Figurine" to the current "Snowdome," he pushes his Future-Soul further toward raw and direct: less dreamy, more angular, personal and close to the electrified present.
