Seven years after Blood, Kelsey Lu returns with a new chapter, still guided by this rare blend of voice and cello, between chamber pop, soul, and more adventurous textures. Based in Los Angeles after bouncing between several scenes and cities, Lu pushes the writing here toward something more upfront, less decorative, where the sacred and the carnal rub against each other without seeking to resolve. Intentionally conceived as a reckoning rather than a healing record, So Help Me God unfolds ten tracks that speak of transformation, desire, grief, and faith that fractures and then rebuilds. Co-produced with Jack Antonoff and Yves Rothman, and nourished by contributions from Sampha, Kamasi Washington, Kim Gordon and others, the album maintains that search for timbres and tensions that is Lu's signature: a physical, emotional music that embraces shadow rather than dodging it. Kelsey Lu will perform on November 11, 2026 at La Botanique in Brussels.
