Sub Focus, alias Nick Douwma, belongs to the generation that carried British drum & bass from the margins to the big stages. Discovered in the early 2000s, he first established himself with a knack for rapid breaks, massive basslines and clean melodies, crafted for the club. With records like Sub Focus (2009) and Torus (2013), he broadened his palette by drawing on electro as well as more vocally oriented formats, without losing the rhythmic impact that has become his signature.
In live performances, Sub Focus maintains this direct and dense writing, alternating between high-pressure builds and calibrated release. His sets today roam between modern drum & bass, touches of electronic pop and festival energy, always with the same sense of timing and groove.
