Each year, as October draws to a close, the doors of a venue normally devoted to the pomp of operatic art open onto a ceremony entirely different.
For one night, the Opéra Comédie de Montpellier sheds its protocol to host a singular ball. A contemporary sabbath where dark music, performances, fantastical creatures, divinatory arts, macabre curiosities and gothic elegance meet.
Here, Halloween is neither a costume party nor a mere dance floor.
It is an immersive experience in which one traverses the opera house's salons as if wandering through a strange dream, between beauty, oddity and fascination.
Concerts, performances, freak show, insect tastings, elixirs, potions at the vampires' bar, dance floor and surprises compose this night of October 31 at the Opéra Comédie de Montpellier.
