Keren Ann returns to the stage with a tour that extends her fondness for songs delivered in a soft voice and melodies that settle in without forcing themselves. Born in Caesarea and having spent time in the Netherlands before anchoring herself between Paris and New York, she has built a universe at the crossroads of pop, folk and chanson, in French as well as in English, with that distinctive way of going straight to emotion, yet staying on the edge.
From the turn of the 2000s to today, her albums sketch a coherent trajectory, from La Biographie de Luka Philipsen and La Disparition to Not Going Anywhere, Nolita, 101, You’re Gonna Get Love or Bleue: precise writing, often pared-down arrangements, breathing spaces, silences that count as much as the words. On stage, these songs take on another dimension, between intimacy and grandeur depending on the lineup chosen.
