Brad Mehldau returns to solo piano with 'Quatorze Rêveries' (Fourteen Reveries), an intimate form that expresses his approach to composing and improvising: starting from a simple motif, letting it turn, extending it, contradicting it, until a narrative unfolds. A leading pianist of American contemporary jazz, he established himself in the 1990s between Joshua Redman's quartet and his own recordings, and later with the series 'The Art of the Trio'. There one finds this very personal blend of lyricism, counterpoint, and fragmented rhythm, capable of cohabiting standards, original compositions, and detours into pop. Alongside his more orchestrated projects and his explorations at the intersection of jazz and classical music, Mehldau has long nourished a solo repertoire where each piece becomes a laboratory of harmony and narration. On February 2, 2027, at the Théâtre André Malraux in Rueil-Malmaison, 'Quatorze Rêveries' promises an evening centered on this direct encounter with the instrument, as close as possible to its touch and sense of detail.
