Natacha Atlas & Samy Bishai - Parallel Universe
Pioneer of a musical fusion between East and West, a figure in world music, first with Transglobal Underground and then during an international solo career with 15 albums to her credit and numerous collaborations (Peter Gabriel, Nitin Sawhney, Jean-Michel Jarre, Ibrahim Maalouf, Omar Sosa…), Natacha Atlas presents at Théâtre de la Mer, in an electro-jazz quartet, her new creation Parallel Universe, produced by the Egyptian-British violinist Samy Bishai.
In search of eclectic musical explorations, she leads us into a parallel universe inspired by soul-infused flavours tinged with oriental tones, where her voice carries us between poetic melancholic sweetness and the realities of current events.
Jean-Christophe Delcroix - Labess - Dima Libre Tour
The band Labess, formed in 2004 by Nedjim Bouizzoul, invites a plural, vibrant, living, free music, nourished by the artist's Algerian roots and his years in Quebec where he arrived with his family at the age of 18. A fusion between the chaâbi music of his roots and rhythms of rumba, flamenco.
This freedom inspires his fifth album, Dima Libre ('always free' in Arabic) which will be released in autumn 2024. A collective cry to defend a freedom that is too rare. The brass shines as in the early days. Labess's alchemy is strengthened by the complicity and talent of Nedjim Bouizzoul's musicians. Together, they invent new colours to paint the themes that make up the artist's work and life: exile and love echoing current events. Dima Libre is also Labess's pride in having carried their music for twenty years, avoiding pitfalls, gathering 'great hearts' in what makes its DNA: the magic of live.
