Nine Below Zero arrives with this English rhythm ’n’ blues tailor-made for the live scene, built around taut guitar work and harmonica front and center.
Led by Dennis Greaves, the group built its reputation through relentless gigs in London's pub-rock circuit, before crystallizing the energy of their live performances on Live at the Marquee (1980).
The run of releases continues quickly with Don't Point Your Finger (1981) and Third Degree (1982), a trio of albums that sums up their approach: straight-ahead blues-rock, reinterpreted covers, and original songs played without embellishment.
On the other hand, Dr. Feelgood remains a key name in pub rock, born in the early 1970s on Canvey Island in Essex.
Their lean, taut rhythm ’n’ blues has yielded tracks that became staples of the repertoire, from Milk & Alcohol to Down at the Doctors.
Today, the band continues to churn out short, catchy tracks, with Kevin Morris on drums, Gordon Russell on guitar, Phil Mitchell on bass, and Robert Kane on vocals.
