Old Mervs arrive in Cardiff on August 4, 2026 for a live show at Clwb Ifor Bach. Born in Kojonup, Western Australia, the duo comprises David House (vocals, guitar) and Henry Carrington-Jones (drums, backing vocals), two childhood friends who have been playing together since 2017. Their terrain: nervy Australian indie rock, at the crossroads of alternative rock and surf rock, with short, melodic tracks, bright guitars, and direct writing that heads straight for the chorus. Discovered on the local indie circuit and then more broadly across Australia, notably via Triple J Unearthed, they have released a string of records that establish their formula: the EP Get Better (2022), followed by Give It Up (2023). In 2025, their first self-titled album, Old Mervs, extends this compact energy, tailored for the live setting. As a duo, they know how to fill the space: crisp rhythm, pop tension, and that small luminous edge that keeps the songs on a wire, without wandering.
