City of the Sun may hail from Brooklyn, New York, but their instrumental music knows no boundaries. The trio of John Pita, Avi Snow, and Zach Para builds their pieces around two acoustic guitars and percussion: at times close to indie rock, at others with Latin-Folk and blues inflections, often with a hint of world music. What emerges are soundscapes that function like wordless stories—carried by precise grooves, flamenco-like figures, plenty of dynamism, and a sense of space.
Since their debut To The Sun and All the Cities in Between (2016), through the self-titled album (2020) to Segunda Alma (2022), the band has continually sharpened their live sound: intimate, yet with cinematic drive, as if you were stepping into a film. On December 10, 2026, City of the Sun will bring this mix of improvisation, melody, and collective energy to the Rote Sonne in Munich.
