Psychedelic Porn Crumpets take the stage at the O2 Academy Oxford on November 4, 2026, with their dense and taut psychedelic rock, built for live performance. Born in Perth around guitarist and songwriter Jack McEwan, the band has become known for multi-layered tracks, heavily saturated guitars, and a very physical way of building the tension, straddling garage, prog, and touches of stoner.
Since their notable beginnings with High Visceral (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2), their writing has become more efficient without losing that taste for excess: rapid-fire riffs, tempo shifts, motifs that spin until hypnotic. The subsequent records, from And Now for the Whatchamacallit to Shyga! The Sunlight Mound and then Night Gnomes, extend this approach by varying the moods, sometimes more direct, sometimes darker.
On stage, everything quickens: a tight, intense set where the songs interlock and hit hard, propelled by that neo-psych energy that has carried them well beyond Australia.
