Born in Toronto, TR/ST is the project of Robert Alfons, launched in 2010 and initially known under the name Trust before definitively adopting TR/ST from 2015. His music moves between synth-pop, dark wave and cold wave, with dry rhythms, often dark synth textures and a taut, always-on-edge vocal. After TRST (2012) and Joyland (2014), Alfons further broadens the spectrum with The Destroyer (Part 1) and (Part 2) in 2019, between more industrial pulsations and more atmospheric moments, with the return of Maya Postepski to collaboration during this period. Also noted for his remixes and exchanges with other electronic scenes, he continues to refine this nocturnal dark pop on the EP TR/ST and then the album Performance (2024). TR/ST will perform live on September 13, 2026 at the Melkweg in Amsterdam.
