Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus, born in the Philippines and raised in London, began with small, lo‑fi songs that sit close to the skin, but in recent years has shifted more and more toward indie rock with distinct 90s guitars and a hint of shoegaze.
Since her breakthrough with “Coffee,” she has gradually expanded her world through a series of EPs, before going fully electric on Fake It Flowers. On Beatopia she showed how easily she can switch between breezy pop melodies and rougher, alternative textures, and with This Is How Tomorrow Moves (2024) she continues that line: sharp hooks, honest lyrics and riffs that linger. On stage, that comes together in a set that feels both direct and dreamy, with the guitar as the backbone and a voice that effortlessly moves from fragile to fierce.
