On 11 December 2026, Belle and Sebastian bring their Glasgow-born indie pop to Rock City in Nottingham. Built around Stuart Murdoch’s quietly sharp songwriting, the band has made a name for itself with intimate, character-driven stories and melodies that feel simple on the surface but land with detail. Expect that signature blend of indie pop and chamber pop: clean guitar lines, soft keys, touches of strings and brass, and a way of singing that keeps things close, almost conversational.
From the early cult records Tigermilk and If You’re Feeling Sinister through The Boy with the Arab Strap, the group has kept weaving small everyday scenes into songs, moving between folk-like warmth and ’60s pop classicism. Later albums pushed into a cleaner, more produced sound, and even flirted with electronic and dance rhythms without losing that narrative core. Live, those songs open up: a larger band sound, plenty of harmonies, and that bittersweet wit that’s been their calling card since the ’90s.
