Vienna Vienna is James Barre’s solo project, a multi-instrumentalist who places pop songwriting at the center, with a real obsession for the stage and for performance. His music moves between 2000s pop-punk, queer pop and soft rock, with glam touches: clean melodies, catchy choruses, and an upfront energy always tempered by an admitted fragility. Behind the polish of pop, the lyrics address identity, desire, self-acceptance, and what music can change when it first serves as a refuge.
On stage, Vienna Vienna seeks less to demonstrate than to share, transforming songs into a collective, direct, and living moment. An emotional, accessible universe at the crossroads of alternative pop and contemporary melodic rock.
