If gritty guitars and catchy melodies speak to you, Turnover heads to Glasgow on 16 March 2027, at SWG3. Born in 2009 in Virginia Beach around Austin Getz, with Casey Getz and bassist Danny Dempsey as the backbone, the band first made a name for itself in a fiercely energetic pop-punk/emo register. Magnolia (2013) still bears traces of that, with direct riffs and unvarnished energy.
Then Turnover clearly shifts its scenery. With Peripheral Vision (2015), the tempo slows, the guitars open up, and the sound slides toward a moodier indie rock, between dream pop and soft grunge, without losing the taste for choruses. Good Nature (2017) nudges the dial toward brighter colors, Altogether (2019) stretches the formula toward a softer pop-rock, and Myself in the Way (2022) confirms this trajectory, now as a four-piece with guitarist Nick Rayfield. On stage, it’s an opportunity to follow this uninterrupted journey, driven by melodic and introspective songwriting.
