Saxon returns to the stage with its Gods Of Thunder tour on 24 February 2027 at Bristol Beacon in Bristol. Led by Biff Byford, the English band is part of a generation that provided heavy metal with its strongest foundations: tight riffs, an unrelenting sense of tempo, and stories grounded in reality, ranging from the everyday life of the working class and motorcycles to war tales and great chapters of history.
Since Saxon’s self-titled 1979 album, the band has produced classics that paved the way for the genre, from Wheels of Steel to Denim and Leather, while keeping a direct and melodic writing style, sometimes leaning toward faster, more frenetic accelerations. Even amid lineup changes, the course remained the same, with albums spanning the decades, from Power & the Glory to Solid Ball of Rock. Still active, the group continues to build its discography in the 21st century, up to Hell, Fire and Damnation (2024), and turns these songs into genuine live material, tailored for the stage.
