On 2 April 2027, at the Espace Robert Hossein in Lourdes, Fatoumata Diawara takes the stage to present a modern Afro-pop that links Manding roots to soulful impulses and to more contemporary textures. Her voice, clear and expressive, moves from intimate storytelling to collective singing, with that groove that makes you move without forcing it. In Bambara as in French, she transforms her story into direct songs that speak of freedom, exile, identity, and the condition of women, without hedging but without preaching.
Here she continues the thread of Massa, an album where the Wassoulou tradition intersects with more open arrangements, between guitars, hypnotic rhythms, and catchy refrains. On stage, Diawara seeks immediacy and sharing, and this way of holding together dance and depth, lightness and gravity, in a single movement.
In the opening act, Mandé offers an acoustic trio format, for a tighter immersion in Manding music, close to the voices and strings.
