Tarja: « Frission »

On 14 February 2027 Tarja Turunen appears at Patronaat in Haarlem with Frission Live. The Finnish soprano with classical training (Sibelius Academy, Karlsruhe) brought her voice to prominence in symphonic metal, first as the frontwoman of Nightwish and since 2006 as a solo artist. In Frission Live those two strands come together: cinematic orchestrations, tight guitars and a voice that shifts effortlessly between power and nuance, from lyrical passages to a solid, supportive foundation. Expect a set drawing on her solo work — from My Winter Storm and Colours in the Dark to In the Raw — alongside new material, performed with a band that keeps the sound clear and dynamic. Tarja maintains her link to the classical repertoire, which is audible in the construction and phrasing, without sacrificing the energy of metal. Years of touring festivals and theatres are reflected in the timing and dramatic arc: moments of stillness alongside wide, sustained choruses. Frission Live thus sketches a sharp portrait of Tarja’s world between metal and classical music, direct and without detours.
