Conway the Machine lands in Birmingham with The Reject 2 anniversary at O2 Academy Birmingham on 25 October 2026. The Buffalo rapper has built a stark East Coast style, all hard-nosed boom bap and razor-sharp detail. Released in 2015, Reject 2 sketched the blueprint for the Griselda rise, carried by Conway’s clipped writing and the grain of a voice shaped by a 2012 shooting. This show puts that era in focus, with the bare-bones menace and street reportage that run through his catalogue, crossed with the craft heard on From King to a God, God Don’t Make Mistakes and Won’t He Do It.
Daringer, Buffalo producer and long-time Griselda architect, sets the frame. His beats favour sparse loops, dry drums and a tense East Coast atmosphere, more pressure than polish, with shades of jazz and mafioso rap. In concert or in DJ mode, he keeps the space lean so every bar cuts through. Together they bring the grainy chemistry that has defined Buffalo’s underground, a straight line from the tape’s cold boom bap to the present.
