La Pegatina

On 19 December 2026 La Pegatina will play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The Catalan collective, formed in 2003 in the Barcelona area, mixes rumba catalana with ska and gypsy punk. Acoustic guitars, percussion and brass set the rhythm; the vocals are often shared and switch effortlessly between Spanish, Catalan and other languages. This approach produces short, nimble songs built around drive, group vocals and direct contact with the audience.

Over the years La Pegatina has broadened its palette without abandoning its rumba foundation. Balkan touches, reggae influences, rock and popular melodies creep into the arrangements, moving the set between propulsive grooves and buoyant choruses. Their trajectory links the alternative Iberian scene with European party music; collaborations with the likes of Manu Chao, Che Sudaka, Amparo Sánchez, Esne Beltza and Ska-P testify to that cross-pollination.
