Walk Off the Earth

On 4 November 2026, Walk Off the Earth is scheduled to play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The Canadian band from Burlington formed in the mid-2000s around Gianni Luminati Nicassio, Ryan Marshall and singer/guitarist Sarah Blackwood. Their sound blends indie pop, pop rock and folk, with acoustic arrangements, tight vocal harmonies and subtle reggae influences. Through online videos and collaborative covers — think of their version of “Somebody That I Used to Know” — they gained worldwide exposure, while their original songs increasingly took centre stage on R.E.V.O. (2013), Sing It All Away (2015) and Here We Go! (2019).

On stage it’s all about interplay: instruments are continually passed between players, multiple voices take on the harmonies, and percussion and keys add colour to compact pop songs. The set moves smoothly between intimate acoustic moments and full-band sound, allowing room for inventive covers alongside recent material. In this way Walk Off the Earth links the web culture that brought them fame with a direct live sound and a manner of playing in which everyone takes a turn at the front.
