The singer and rapper from Atlanta began with Goodie Mob and as part of the Dungeon Family alongside OutKast; his distinctive, gospel-tinged voice has ranged since the 1990s across Southern rap, soul and funk. After his early solo albums Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections and Cee-Lo Green... Is the Soul Machine, he collaborated with Danger Mouse in the duo Gnarls Barkley, which expanded his palette between pop-soul, retro grooves and more experimental textures. He later sharpened his focus with The Lady Killer and made his mark with Cee Lo’s Magic Moment, Heart Blanche and CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway. On stage Cee Lo Green brings these phases together: melodic hooks, rich arrangements, rhythmic edges and a voice that spans from rap to the classic soul tradition — from his Goodie Mob beginnings to his solo repertoire.
