Info
Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin brings her North America Tour to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on 18 November 2026. Raised in the Blue Mountains and shaped on Sydney’s indie circuit, she has built a songwriting voice that drifts between indie folk, indie rock and a hint of alt-country, with clear melodies and measured arrangements centred on guitar and voice. After early projects with Salta and the trio Phantastic Ferniture, she stepped out solo with the EP Santafel (2014) and the debut album Don’t Let the Kids Win (2016), recorded in New Zealand with producer Ben Edwards, which opened doors to extensive touring across Australia, Europe and North America. Crushing (2019) tightened the focus on narrative and emotional tension, while Pre Pleasure (2022), recorded in Montréal, added density without losing the direct, plainspoken core of her writing. On stage, Jacklin navigates from hushed confession to a restrained charge, attentive to small details, relationships and vulnerability, with songs that hold space and leave room for silence.
