Info
Default bring their 25th Anniversary Tour to Bo's Bar & Stage in Red Deer on September 24, 2026. Formed in Vancouver at the turn of the 2000s, the band shaped a hard-edged blend of post-grunge and alt-rock, with dense guitars, direct melodies and a tense vocal line. Fronted by Dallas Smith with Jeremy Hora, Dave Benedict and Danny Craig, they released The Fallout (2001), followed by Elocation (2003), One Thing Remains (2005) and Comes and Goes (2009). This anniversary run revisits that path: a set built around their catalogue’s contrasts, from punchy singles to slower, brooding cuts.
Sharing the bill, Saskatoon’s Wide Mouth Mason lean into their blues-rock roots, folding in funk, soul and pop inflections honed since the mid-’90s. Centered around singer-guitarist Shaun Verreault and drummer Safwan Javed, the group has moved from their self-titled breakout (1997) through Where I Started and Stew to the more blues-forward Rained Out Parade, then toward the rootsier No Bad Days and the stripped-back I Wanna Go with You. On stage, the focus stays on riffs, a tight rhythmic pulse and measured improvisation.
