On March 5, 2027, Daoud stops by Paul B in Massy to lay out his vision of jazz, deliberately off the beaten path. The Franco‑Moroccan trumpeter, composer and producer, he builds a music sustained by a constant tension: it can veer into chaos, then suddenly return to a gentler restraint, with an irony that never masks sincerity.
Driven by OK (ACT, 2025), his set revolves around the idea of a fall and a rebound, with motifs that repeat until they find an exit. In a group setting, Daoud does not seek demonstration: he plays with the rules, stretches silences, releases brighter, more direct outbursts, and lets an openly acknowledged fragility coexist with very sharp angles. A night for those who love jazz when it reinvents itself, unpretentiously, close to what moves.
