Alborosie

Alborosie brings his Nine Mile UK Tour to Manchester Academy on 1 December 2026. Born Alberto D’Ascola in Sicily and based in Jamaica for over two decades, the singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer has been active since the early 90s. His sound fuses roots, dancehall, dub and raggamuffin, anchored in the culture he embraced in Kingston.

His catalogue spans the album Soul Pirate, with tracks like Kingston Town and Herbalist, and collaborations with Buju Banton, Kabaka Pyramid and The Wailing Souls. He has received a MOBO Award for Best Reggae Act and has led socially minded projects such as Shadows After Dark (2020). Recent releases include Destiny (2023) and Dub Pirate (2024).

On stage with The Shengen Clan, Alborosie runs a live show that moves from roots to dub, folding new material into fan favourites drawn from across his discography. With more than a thousand shows worldwide behind him, he brings a band-driven take on modern reggae with tight riddims, live dubbing and call-and-response vocals.
