Info
Cate Le Bon plays ICA Bookstore in London on 4 August 2026. The Welsh artist and producer has spent the past decade shaping a language of her own, where melody meets angled rhythms and detail-rich textures. Across albums like the Mercury Prize-nominated Reward and the more austere Pompeii, she has refined a way of writing that treats guitar, saxophone and synth as moving parts in a single, carefully drawn frame, held together by her cool, lucid voice.
Her seventh album, Michelangelo Dying, deepens that approach with songs that sit between clarity and blur, circling love, loss and the fragile stories we tell ourselves. The record includes a striking appearance from John Cale, and extends Le Bon’s ongoing dialogue with collaborators like co-producer Samur Khouja and saxophonist Euan Hinshelwood, whose fingerprints are part of her sound’s grain. Beyond her own work, she’s become a trusted ear in the studio for others, with production credits for Wilco, Horsegirl and St. Vincent. On stage, that same attention to tone and space turns into a set that moves with restraint and quiet nerve, where each line finds its place without hurry.
