Beth Orton

Beth Orton plays Rough Trade East, London, on 26 June 2026, with a live set and an album signing to celebrate The Ground Above, her new release on Partisan Records. A key voice since the mid-90s, the Norfolk-born songwriter has long navigated the space between folk intimacy and understated electronics. First heard alongside William Orbit and The Chemical Brothers, she soon defined her own terrain with Trailer Park and Central Reservation, then widened the frame across Daybreaker and the more stripped-back Comfort of Strangers, before shifting tones again on Sugaring Season, Kidsticks and Weather Alive.

This show turns the spotlight on The Ground Above while tracing that continuum: close, slightly grainy vocals, acoustic guitars that leave room to breathe, and electronic textures that shade rather than overtake. It’s Beth Orton’s songcraft brought into sharp relief, balancing organic playing and subtle programming. After the performance, she’ll be signing the new album on site.
