Thylacine

On January 21, 2027 at the MeM in Rennes, Thylacine returns with a live show crafted for travel and visuals. Behind this pseudonym, Angers-born musician William Rezé blends melodic techno, ambient and downtempo, with a sense of harmony inherited from his saxophone training, which traversed jazz and classical music. His pieces advance through loops and patient progressions, weaving textures that settle in without abruptness.

On stage, Thylacine brings to life this taste for travel that runs through his discography. Transsiberian was born from a journey aboard the Trans-Siberian, nourished by atmospheres captured along the way. The two volumes of Roads extend this travel-journal format, where landscapes and encounters leave their sonic imprint. More recently, Timeless opens another project: reworking Debussy, Satie and Beethoven with a pared-down electronic approach, clear in its lines. In concert, these tracks answer one another in an immersive set, supported by images shot during his travels—part logbook, part minimalist reinterpretation. An evening to enter his moving universe, up close to the very substance of sound.
